Hey reefers, my skimmer today spoil. im planning to take this chance to upgrade to a deltec APF. however,s tick is coming in on tuesday only. how long can my tank last without a skimmer?

yesterday mine skimmer started making sounds that I did not like and no longer creating fine bubbles.

Open up the pump and use super glue to temporary fix it.

Today shall get a spare...

How long can tank last?? depends on your bioload but I wont take the chance..better put in a temporary one first!

no need to worry just try to feed lesses for now maybe 1-2 time a day and control the amount.

from today to tuesday it bout five days just change ur water right before u input the skimmer it reduce the nitrate or else ur skimmer will skim like hell

one more thing reduce ur lighting period like maybe 5hrs a day this will also let ur LS rest more and comsume lesser food=lesser poo...

if u are feeding forzen food then contrl pellet will be better for now as it have lesser decompose

hmmm how about monitor your ph too? When I switch off my skimmer for 12hrs after dosing bacteria, the ph tends to drop on the low side.

i think should be can. had a talk with a bro just now on msn and he said should be fine =) i'll just feed less and do more WC. anyway its only 5 days

Maybe can just use a cheapo wood airstone to do the skimming temporarily.

last night the spare became the primary andd the old one became the spare!

So far so good but may need to adjust a little.
