bro keep sump as simple as possible... too much things complicated things and get not good results...

feel cheato, skimmer, and pump + mechanical filter is good enuf...

currently, live rocks in first compartment flow to red bamboo with 7000k 15W FL lighting around 16 hours flowing through skimmer pump and uv pump -> seachem seageL -> return pump.

getting more plants to plant to export the nutrients.maybe mangrove. however need to measure haha as it might be too tall.

does it work like the canister filter?

as in, the stages the water flow thru...

tried searching online what are the media to be placed into the sump,

but dont really have much results about it...

maybe for your references, last time the tank setup is overflow from top display tank towards the sump via pipe.

goes thru bio balls and coral chips (WHICH TRAP FREAKING FREAKING FREAKING LOTS OF SHIT]

so, for this setup, i changed to liverocks.

Water filtration stage for my tank:

1) Water from main tank overflow to sump tank -> filter wool which i change once it's dirty -> liverock (all in first compartment)

2) 2nd compartment is my refugium with chaeto and red bamboo + mangrove on 7000k 15 W FL light on from 12am till 6pm everyday on timer

3) 3rd compartment is the pump for UV and skimmer

4) 4th biggest compartment is just water and pump is external sucking water via piping.

this is for my current setup.

there's alot of different type of sump however alot of feedback is to keep filter wool changed very frequently and keep as little thing in the sump as possible.

kept refugium as there's pods which can be pump up to the main tank for some "picky feeder" and to keep nitrate down (which is not going down though haha)
