Tank design

My previous 422 tank W/sump had an internal underflow which was'n suitable for sand and undergravel but now I've just bought another 422 tank W/sump but with internal over flow, just discovered that if I put food into the tank it flows into the over flow before the fishes eats them. So which is actually the best design??? Real headache.... :paiseh:

You should switch off yr system while feeding.

Just dun on off on off frequently...otherwise yr pump will spoil easily.

u can either do that or just soak the food in a little of your tank's water, once they soak up the water, they'll not float anymore so less chance of them being sucked into the overflow.
