My tank is 3feet by 1.5 feet by 1.5 feet. and nope there isnt any chiller, just a hang on the back filter plus hang on back protein skimmer, but right now i`m saving up cash to buy a new filtration system. yup

Easy, blackout the tank for the next couple of days. Anyway, cuttlefish and lionfish fare better in low light condition. You can also add some carbon and PO4 media at the same time. For this kind of species tank try not to add any corals to further challenge your husbandry as your options to deal will nuisance algae will greatly reduced. smalljerm
so if i dont on the lights for the next few days, the algae will be gone? also i dont have any corals, i`m planning to keep it Fish only with live rocks, yupp. but will the chemicals used for getting rid of algae, will it harm my cuttlefish or lionfish? or is it copper based? cause cuttlefish dont fare well with copper, even if its just tiny traces of copper as their blood is copper based. smalljerm
bro, maybe u can give me some advise on how to bring them home alive? hey bro, i dont think it was sotong you bought, cause soton= squid right? i think its more like cuttlefish, anyway if it is really squid, dont buy it cause the chances of them surviving in captive is extremely low, basically for cuttlefish, you should try not stressing them out too much on the way home, like try reducing bag movement, keep them in a dark plastic bag so they wont feel stress, also they are extrememly sensative to water quality, so try not leaving them in the bag too long but of course still need to acclimate them into the tank, the main problem with cuttlefish is not about bringing them home alive but rather keeping them in your tank alive, because they are extremely delicate, they will need excellent water quality , one of the biggest problem with buying cuttlefish is that most of them are wild caught, and given that cuttlefish life span is very short, most of the cuttlefish that you get , you wouldnt know how old it is, with most having a few months left to live. best is to get cuttlefish eggs and raise them up from young, but it requires more attention and care, but it will be the most rewarding as cuttlefish are highly intelligent and they will learn to recognise you as their owner very quickly. i`m ordering cuttlefish eggs, if your interested, you can just pm me . enjoy
