pcj87
Hey all, We are a group of beginning divers doing a beginner's course with DugongDivers Club (http://dugongdivers.multiply.com/). We will be doing practice dives at Tioman from 10 - 12 Sep 2009 (Thur - Sat). The DugongDivers Club will be chartering a diving boat to take us from Mersing to Tioman (our own private boat) - as such there is a minimum pax count for the group to spread the chartering cost reasonably. Currently, we have 10 confirmed pax (min. 15 pax). So we have an extra 5 pax to fill before we can charter the boat. We have tried to get our friends to join us but to no avail becoz of cost, lack of interest, and unavailabilty of time. We will need to fill the 15 pax (at least) for the trip to go ahead, if not we'll have no choice but to postpone... =((( As such, we're opening to 5 seats to anybody else who are interested to join us! The 10 of us will be learners, but those who are seasoned divers or want a refresher course can join us too! So come, join us for a great time of diving and to meet new friends!! The following are some details of the diving trip: Criteria / Requirement for Open Water Course (for beginner): * Able to jump into the water and swim confidently. * At least 15 years old for Open Water Course Cert Recognition: Worldwide (SSI) Courses Charges: * Open Water Diver course $550 (for beginners) Eqpt everything in (No hidden cost) * AOWD course $508 (without equip) * Leisure Diver $358 (without equip) * Equip Rental $50 (for Dugongdivers it's 40% OFF) * Refreshment Course $55 for renting the pool, equipment, air-tank & weights (exclude trip) Transport-wise, we'll be car-pooling to Mersing and from there, take our own chartered boat to Tioman! For those who are keen or would like to know more, feel free to email me at paul_changj@hotmail.com.
nitrox
wow! that expensive for a ssi course & it doesn't include transport up? you might want to research around more. fishermen or simply scuba offers better pricing plus they fill their boat to 15 or 20 divers max neway and that already includes the crew
pcj87
Hi nitrox, $550 inclusive of everything - transport up, lodging, food, equipment, theory and pool fees. For those who prefer to drive up in their own car, a cash rebate of $20 will be given for every pax that you ferry, including yourself. The fees are actually one of the most competitive in the mkt alr. =)
SRC Member markietan Posted August 17, 2009 SRC Member Share Posted August 17, 2009 mm.. 550 is the usual price for PADI. SSI is usually quite abit cheaper...
