SRC Member angmoh Posted August 5, 2009 SRC Member Share Posted August 5, 2009 I'm facing a problem with Beckett skimmer and Resun MD pumps... Whenever i first powered the skimmer with pump, everything works fine. You'll find very dense bubble with high flow rate. However over a period of a day or 2, you'll find the bubbles and water flow therein were dramastically reduced.. any idea what will cause this? is there any problem with my skimmer or pump? or it is a common problem for the MD pumps? I have tried a few of Resun MD pumps(2nd hand) and all are facing the same problem. Even if i switch to other becketts also the same problem pls advise. Thanks Quote >>
Gouldian
Hi Bro, How have you been? Its been a while since we last met, hope all is well for you. IMHO, I believe its got to be Resun. I feel that they are not able to take the back pressure created by the beckett. If I were you, I will go for Iwaki rather than Resun. angmoh said: I'm facing a problem with Beckett skimmer and Resun MD pumps... SRC Member angmoh Posted August 6, 2009 Author SRC Member Share Posted August 6, 2009 hey bro, ltns. good to see that you are still active in reefing.. alot of old hobbyist slowly move to other hobbies or quitting.. haha but seems like alot of ppl also using resun + beckett.. not too sure if others also facing the same prob. or could it be due to my skimmer placement/settings? basically the skimmer sits on a chair , which the water outlet is higher than the sump. Whereas the pump sits on the floor, drawing water directly from the sump. Quote >>
