blueheaven
Now i got PL lights and i know that i would have to change the tubes every 6mths or a year. then today i noticed that one PL tube would cost me $85. I have 2 PL fixtures which would cost me $170 to replace the tubes. If so, i might as well upgrade to MH for $200 and replace the bulb every year for abt $100+. My tank is only 12 inches high and its not convincing to change to MH. can anyone give some advice? Quote But if you tame me, we shall need each other. To me, you will be unique in all the world. Terryz_
is it because of the wattage... I was quote $20 for 36w PL light.... Quote Member of:
SRC Member riot Posted December 9, 2003 SRC Member Share Posted December 9, 2003 The corallife 36w is already $50. Wah lau get a 10kk 55w. Try Nature Aq @ balestier. If you dont have a chiller, and you still want to change, go for the t5s.

weileong
I think if use higher power MH the fan might not be able to cool down properly. Quote Weileong's 4ft tank Part I Weileong's 4ft tank Part II
SRC Member nutx Posted December 9, 2003 SRC Member Share Posted December 9, 2003 So it is possible to have a MH when you using a fan... hmmm... Yes, it is possible to cool a MH using fan, depending where is your tank. In near window or balcony, efficiency of fan increases compared to tank in a 'enclosed' room. Also, using Metal blade fan is stronger than Plastic Blade fan. hanging MH slightly higher also helps.
