For a cheap and effective cure for white spots, slime etc, you can try using "Gentian Violet" from Guardian Pharmacy. It cost only $4.60 for a 125 ml bottle. Please use with extreme care! FuEl
Change water daily until conditions improve. If will help if you can siphon the tank bottom as well. BlackTip
Improving water quality via daily water change is ideal. However, it can be time consuming and costly (if you use expensive salt mix). Factors to consider like how much to change to be effective. Changing too little may have little overall impact while changing too much will disturb the balance in the water i.e. the temp, pH, salinity etc. So, I would suggest an immediate treatment, use medication and then do partial water change gradually. SRC Supporter mitlancer Posted October 14, 2009 SRC Supporter Share Posted October 14, 2009 you dose this in the main tank? or seperate it in another quarantine tank?? dosed into my sump of my main tank. Reef safe, cos its bacteria not chemical. It's more of preventive measures than cure though...
