I've noticed that some of my mushrooms are folded inwards. Why do they do this? Its been a few months now but everything seems fine. Why do they fold instead of expanding bigger? Is this due to too much light?

They have been like this since I fragged them. Some of them drifted from the rock and attached themselves at the tank bottom. Some of my mushrooms on the LR are also folded inwards. Is this something I should worry about? They seem to be doing well after so long.

Ca, alk and ph are also important factors even though they are soft corals.

i notice my bigger mushrooms doing this when i frag them too. the base rock they are attatched to are the same size as their base. my guess is they are doing this to prevent floating away. from what i see, these are big mushrooms. when they expand, the surface area will enlarge very big and will make them float away , much like an umbrella in the wind because of the small and thin base. when i glued them to bigger, more stable rocks, they expanded normally already. perhaps its a weird theory, but it worked for me

Most of the mushrooms are attached to the tank bottom, since I my tank is a BB tank.

I'm getting really fed up with my mushrooms, I've seen how most of you guys can just make them grow like crazy without doing anything, but I cant

get such results even though I tried many various ways to get them to expand.

One question though, do you think its my lights? I noticed that their base is extended, is it due to lack of lighting? Using 2x36WPL for 2ft tank, I think its enough though. Any ideas?

should be enough. maybe put them higher up.

even though mushrooms like moderate lighting, i blast mine under strong light and they grow like mad.

im using T5s and my shrooms are right at the top
