Just leave it alone.. I have a resident "creature" that spins webs, catches floating food then reels it back in into it's mouth...

At first also freaked out, tried to kill it but after failing to I didn't bother... it actually helps to clean up the water a little... heh...

But then not too sure if you have the same "creature" as me... was told it's some kind of a snail, but it encases itself into a rock... hm..
