Is there such thing as too much flow??

Well.. seeking advice for this question Whether thr will be too much flow for a Mixed reef?? Currently running one a Hydor K2 tank volume is 34 gallons...... Thinking about this and i would appreciate any advice...

Short answer: Yes.

Mushies and other soft corals will be very unhappy with too much flow, may detach or close up and die... I think I killed some yumas when I went overboard with my 2100l/h return pump together with the K1 in my nano tank. Lesson learnt the hard way haha.

However if i'm to just point the new toy ??? to the sps corner will it still do any harm??

possible, depends on how you play with it..... some wavemakers are just too strong....

Yup, depends on your coral placement and where you point the wavemaker. I shield my mushrooms with live rock now, to block the flow.

hmm... then how much is considered really too strong... I'm not talking about vortechs in this case...

get controllables, they pulse so u can set for the left right motion , even with 2x 6105 at full blast 13000lph , my lps and mushies are so happy swaying arn

That's too much flow liao... Bearing in mind that i'm still keeping my K2... Probably gonna get a K @@@@ agn ... My prev one was sold to a friendly reefer... Oh man my desk is very messy, thanks to the HBL...
