MH bulb blow

Today 1 of my MH bulbs (DE 150W) blew out. It cause my whole house circuit breaker to trip. Kena shock because don't know what happened Only found out 1 of my MH is not lighted when turn back on the circuit breaker.

Anyone experienced this before? Looks like have to buy replacement MH bulbs already...

Well, turns out its the fuse to the HQI ballast blow. Don't know why it happens.

Anyway, had to order fuses from RS because its a 3A rated fuse, damn hard to find at local hardware shops.

3A fuse is easily found in Sim Lim Tower......

It's ballast short circuited so no point changing Fuse .

I have the same problem last year when I newly bought the Solite 2ft MH. I initially thought it was the MH bulb problem so rushed down to LFS to get new Bulb and problem still occurred. So end up bring back to the agent and got the ballast replacement .

Ya, guess so. But lazy to make a trip all the way down to buy from SLT

I'm using the Solite ballast for the Solite Type 3. But I bought my Solite from another reefer like 1 yr ago. So I guess I probably have to change ballast if it blows again since I doubt there is warranty anymore.

Since the warranty over..i suggest you get eballast !

Most probably will try DIY. I'm thinking of fitting the LED into my Solite Type 3.
