Need help with tang

Recommended Posts

hi bros n sis, i nid some help here. i haf juz bought my 1st tang 2dae, a sailfin, currently inside my betta box. i saw it juz nw and i can see that it has some white spots oreadi. is it a norm for a tang to haf white spots when introduced to a new tank? as i understand tat tangs will require a lot of swimming space, i tink one of the reason it has white spots is bcos the betta box is small, thus it is stressed, so im wondering if i shd release it out to the main tank? den if i release it out, i tink i may haf problem tryin to train it to eat flakes...so i nid some advice on this...

at the same time, how do i induce it to start feeding? does henry's food help? i read that dey will feed on seaweed. do i haf to buy it? or ocean nutrition formula 2 / dr basslet's flakes is sufficient? when i bought it, i saw it feeding on pallets...bt i juz tried pallets bt it doesnt show ne response...

i haf absolutely no experience in having a tang b4, so hopefully sum1 can advise me...gum xia many many

I would suggest you get it from SL or CF. But you have to make a few trips cos you have to aim and check the fish still there for a week or 2 then get it. By then the fishes should be very stable. That how I pick the powder blue from there.

Yo bro, just want to check how to manage to cure the white spot on your tang?..i have 2 blue tang, had white spot last week but still eating, feed them with mysis shrimp soaked with garlic guard...the white spot initially gone...

however, it came back again today..but the blue tang still chasing after food...they really eat alot....always nip at the red bamboo..

should i dose medicine? if yes, any recommendation? my tank is just 1 and half months old, without any coral yet....

:thanks:

I would say if it is still eating then the chance of survival is high. To cure it with the most efficient method is copper. You can find the instruction and detail by HAMMY. But If I were you, just do what you had done. Try to recall what you had done that could have stress your fishes or did you introduce any new fish. Avoid the same mistake. Just my 2 cents.
