hey guys...

anyone out there has ever tried having a "seawater pond"??

instead of having kois or goldfish inside,

there'll be the saltwater environment..

something like this

http://www.reefcentral.com/forums/showthre...mp;pagenumber=1

operates the same as tanks?

cycling wise everything the same???

my girlfriend is thinking of converting her goldfish pond to one with lots of clownfish...

any comments???

It can be done but not with a lot clownfish.. Unless they are tank raised and from the same parent.. If not it will always end up with a pair... Even if they are from the same brood, they might not get along in a big bunch..

hmm bro possible but since a pond is on the ground, and mostly big

very difficult to view or maintain what if a fish dies in one corner that is being block as you are standing from above to view it down

with rocks covering hmm unless you wanna keep those larger scale fishes then possible

hehe :eyebrow:

Pain is temporary. It may last a minute, or an hour, or a day, or a year, but eventually it will subside and something else will take its place. If I quit, however, it lasts forever.

things u need to take note of is cooling, if the outdoor ambient heat goes to over 30c , your tank will be cooked and u can have fish soup, and you will have to maintain 0 po4 all the time if not your algae growth will be fantastic. but its worth a try , surely you can find advises and help from reefers here since not too many people have a marine pond, it be cool to see 1 with natural sunlight blasting on it

hmmm..

actually the pond that i'm looking at not as "grand" as the one in the URL...

its not those in the garden...

its a small one, like one "tub" that looks like a pond...

its indoors...

if there's a chance i'll take a picture,

let the picture do the talking.. haha...

If your talking about those large blue fibreglass tubs, should be feasible. I've seen a similar setup on Reefcentral. Since its indoors, you don't have to worry so much about the outside weather.

The principle in setting up and cycling should be similar to what we do in a typical glass/acrylic tank.

Iwarna keeps various outdoor ponds. One of them used to house the big size black tang few weeks back.
