I doubt you ever do your planning well in your upgrade..haiz <_<

Hehehe... I was puzzled at first as well - upgrade to double the tank volume, then why so surprised that electric bills double?

what kind of livestocks are you keeping? if you were previously not using chiller so i supos you are not keeping corals previously,

if you want to cut down on ur bill then do not keep corals at all, you will find them sucky more of your money as u will need more and more equipments and all of them draw electricity irregardless of brands , and without corals u can stop using chiller and use fans instead.

Leave the more sensitive livestocks until you are more experience and have the money to support the hobby which can be extremely costly

Mix Reef Tank: 5ft x 2.5ft x 2ft mixed reef

Chiller: daikin 1hp compressor

Return: Red Dragon 6.5m3

Lighting: Aqua Lumen Ocean 4ft

Skimmer: Reef Octopus RO-RPS-5000-EXT w/ Bubble Blaster

CR: RM 824 /milwakee PH controller

Tunze TS24 with 7096

Tunze Osmolator

American Pinpoint PH monitor

American Pinpoint ORP Monitor with Resun Ozone

RM sulphur denitrator

RM FR 424

RM FR 624

I dont know how u guys calculated...but this is how i calculate

If the tarrif is $0.1928 per Kilowatt

If a 50 W pump runs for 24 hours

=50W X 24Hrs X 30 Days

=36000W

=36 KW

So 36KW X 0.1928

SGD 6.94 would be the amount u will spend on electricity only for the pump.

Hope this helps
