Activated Carbon

To counter algae, I bought Seachem PhosGuard and Activated Carbon beads. It it the right practice to alternate use of PhosGuard and AC, meaning 1 week PG and another week AC, repeat cycle?

Too complicated for my brain to alternate.

Why don't you just mix Phosguard with Activated carbon 50/50 and use them together all the time.

yeah...mixed them around in a filter bag... no need one week put AC and PG next week...so troublesome

Both phosguard and GAC have their own uses.

Phosguard removes phosphates and silicates.

GAC takes out mainly organics.

You can use both together at the same time.

I believe Seachem packages both together into one product called Sea Gel.

To be sure, please confirm I can mix white PhosGuard with black AC in ONE single bag? That makes things kinda grey.... and they will not react with each other, rite?
