I thought they are solitary creatures? If getting a pair, it's better to buy a big, like really BIG, cage.

hey garyjg, for your infor i've being keeping hog for many years, if i don't know what i am letting go i will not quote that price to find a good owner. As for zoo, have you ever seen a hog before? If i really DONATE, its equally as good as sending them off to HELL, isn't it more CRUEL. If u don't know anything about it, pls go find out yourself. 'They' take those things that ppl "donated" etc...snake, n YA they really do " TAKE GOOD CARE OF IT" by cutting it into pieces and feed it as food. Maybe u can try donating your fishes to underwater world n see what happen. Alright? Or perhaps, if you'r so kind hearted, y not save all the cats, dogs, rabbit n hamster that spca is going to put to sleep.

Before this turns into a marketplace for banned exotic pets, do note that as mentioned earlier, hedgehogs are illegal to sell or keep in Singapore.

I may be wrong on this, but the only relevant legislation i found covering this is the Endangered Species (Import and Export) Act Cap 92A [ESA]

Any person or company caught violating the ESA is liable to be prosecuted in Court and fined up to a maximum of S$50,000 for each animal or plant ( but not to exceed in the aggregate S$500,000 ) and/or to imprisonment for a term up to 2 years.

Sorry to TS, I don't want to be a wetblanket, I'm actually pretty neutral to this but it seems that more people are chipping in their 2 cents and turning this marine market place into a black market.

Also, for those of you who find the hedgehog cute and for some reason die die want to buy it now, I am not one to take the moral high ground and judge or impose my believes on others, but please practice responsible pet ownership by reading up and researching on its care. I personally find it damn cute and don't mind keeping one, but I was brought up to respect the law, no matter how stupid it may be

its is a APRICOT hedgehog not common as salt and pepper or albino and the price is different also as the size different also.

Go do the research before decide what u going to keep.

Nothing wrong with starfishes keeping the price there for serious buyers. Many funny people around. Some will ask for cheap price, buy the animal, and sell it again.

Don't put it with the zoo. Animals that are passed on to them never come to a good end.

Just a word of caution , to people like um lowballers or something, the price of an average apricot hog in malaysia , is currently more expensive than the price offered to the people who inquired.

And i do agree with binosage , cause starfishes really dosent have anything to hide man , he's offering the hog at that price , so if you cant afford , dont flame the thread!

I agree, the price that Starfishes quoted is not expensive at all for an Apricot hog. I pm'ed him for the price but too bad my wife don't want me to keep anymore pets at home. Hope your hog find a good owner who is willing to spend and pamper it!

keeping hedgehog need quite a bit of $ and time too. Please do not try to keep them in those hamster cage. should at least get a 3ft x 2ft cage for a pair and don expect them to bond with you like a dog and play fetch. They need time to get use to human activities and fyi, the cage and those wheels (toys) for them can be pretty expensive not to mentioned the bedding.

yeah, u need to wash their wheel or play pen (due to their poo) quite often too. well imho, keeping marine fishes is easier at least the poo goes to the skimmer. starfish price is reasonable.

i support you, starfishes. great guy. anyway, situations do change. sometimes, situation changes to bad and you cant continue to keep your pet.
