SRC Member albinosage Posted July 10, 2009 SRC Member Share Posted July 10, 2009 its better to get a pair if i were youits too oney to be alone I thought they are solitary creatures? If getting a pair, it's better to buy a big, like really BIG, cage. Edit: From Hedgehog Central: You will want to choose a single hedgehog since they are solitary and don’t normally like to share a cage. Never buy a male and female to be placed in the same cage unless you intend to breed! shanshine
hey shanshine, do u think that i will sell it to you for the price you posted in my thread? YOU this kind of person, BUDGET ENOUGH to offer me that price of yours, i don think u have what it takes, to take good care of it n provide a good home. SO PLEASE if u got no money to spend on a pet, don't buy it. STILL DARE TO PM ME N ASK, IF I GOT ANY CHEAP LOBANG TO HELP YOU GET A CHEAP HOG!!! THEY WILL ONLY SUFFER IN YOUR HANDS. USE your brain, even for marine u'll need to spend a huge amount on equipment/supplements to keep your fish and coral heathly. By the way for your infor, someone brought mine and i know at least he can provide the hog a good home and now i am helping my friend to sell off his, so if u wan to CREATE trouble PLEASE go somewhere else and get lost. hey garyjg, for your infor i've being keeping hog for many years, if i don't know what i am letting go i will not quote that price to find a good owner. As for zoo, have you ever seen a hog before? If i really DONATE, its equally as good as sending them off to HELL, isn't it more CRUEL. If u don't know anything about it, pls go find out yourself. 'They' take those things that ppl "donated" etc...snake, n YA they really do " TAKE GOOD CARE OF IT" by cutting it into pieces and feed it as food. Maybe u can try donating your fishes to underwater world n see what happen. Alright? Or perhaps, if you'r so kind hearted, y not save all the cats, dogs, rabbit n hamster that spca is going to put to sleep. IF I HAPPEN TO OFFEND ANYONE, I AM SO SORRY. immature piece of statement

SRC Member albinosage Posted July 10, 2009 SRC Member Share Posted July 10, 2009 Before this turns into a marketplace for banned exotic pets, do note that as mentioned earlier, hedgehogs are illegal to sell or keep in Singapore. I may be wrong on this, but the only relevant legislation i found covering this is the Endangered Species (Import and Export) Act Cap 92A [ESA] Any person or company caught violating the ESA is liable to be prosecuted in Court and fined up to a maximum of S$50,000 for each animal or plant ( but not to exceed in the aggregate S$500,000 ) and/or to imprisonment for a term up to 2 years. For the list of animals that are permitted in Singapore, refer to the following link: http://www.ava.gov.sg/AnimalsPetSector/Sal...dex.htm#animals Sorry to TS, I don't want to be a wetblanket, I'm actually pretty neutral to this but it seems that more people are chipping in their 2 cents and turning this marine market place into a black market. Also, for those of you who find the hedgehog cute and for some reason die die want to buy it now, I am not one to take the moral high ground and judge or impose my believes on others, but please practice responsible pet ownership by reading up and researching on its care. I personally find it damn cute and don't mind keeping one, but I was brought up to respect the law, no matter how stupid it may be Quote My 1.5ft nano cube My 24G nano tank (Decommed) I can picture in my mind a world without war, a world without hate. starfishes
its is a APRICOT hedgehog not common as salt and pepper or albino and the price is different also as the size different also. Go do the research before decide what u going to keep. shanshine, whether it is immature or mature piece of statement, let others decide yamashido, if u wanna to sell your hog pls start your own thread, would like me to state out all exact market prices of the hog so pls don't disturb my thread. This is not a place for you to take advantage of others ppl thread, to earn your profit. Thanks a lots. PS: I have no intention of turning this thread into a black market, i just trying to help my friend by finding her a good home n *i am not making any profit. So others, pls don't try to create trouble and i hope u guys do understand. As if no one is interested i can just return to my friend, nothing to lose. Happy reefing. SRC Member albinosage Posted July 10, 2009 SRC Member Share Posted July 10, 2009 Hi starfish, as repeated from our PM, thanks for the gracious reply. It's actions like this that show that you are not here for profit or to stir trouble. Once again, so sorry to kill the buzz Quote My 1.5ft nano cube My 24G nano tank (Decommed) I can picture in my mind a world without war, a world without hate. FuEl
Nothing wrong with starfishes keeping the price there for serious buyers. Many funny people around. Some will ask for cheap price, buy the animal, and sell it again. Don't put it with the zoo. Animals that are passed on to them never come to a good end. [There are 16 different species of Hedgehogs. All of them are listed by the International Union for Conservation of Nature, (IUCN) the Red List, with a status of "least concern". Some have different population trends, but most of these are generally "decreasing", or "unknown". There are no species of Hedgehogs listed with a status of endangered on the IUCN Red List now, or listed by the U.S. Fish and Wildlife Endangered Species List either.] http://wiki.answers.com/Q/Is_a_hedgehog_endangered Quote Always something more important than fish. http://reefbuilders.com/2012/03/08/sps-pico-reef/
freefrag
nah , starfishes good guy, shanshine looks to me like you're a lowballer cause starfishes told me haha. but really guys, you want a cheap pet go to spca , cause exotics arent cheap. Just a word of caution , to people like um lowballers or something, the price of an average apricot hog in malaysia , is currently more expensive than the price offered to the people who inquired. And i do agree with binosage , cause starfishes really dosent have anything to hide man , he's offering the hog at that price , so if you cant afford , dont flame the thread! saw the hog myself and im telling you you wont regret it if you get it

divinesloth
I agree, the price that Starfishes quoted is not expensive at all for an Apricot hog. I pm'ed him for the price but too bad my wife don't want me to keep anymore pets at home. Hope your hog find a good owner who is willing to spend and pamper it! Quote Why all the venom? Reefing is just a hobby, dude.

I pm'ed him for the price but too bad my wife don't want me to keep anymore pets at home. Hope your hog find a good owner who is willing to spend and pamper it! keeping hedgehog need quite a bit of $ and time too. Please do not try to keep them in those hamster cage. should at least get a 3ft x 2ft cage for a pair and don expect them to bond with you like a dog and play fetch. They need time to get use to human activities and fyi, the cage and those wheels (toys) for them can be pretty expensive not to mentioned the bedding. yeah, u need to wash their wheel or play pen (due to their poo) quite often too. well imho, keeping marine fishes is easier at least the poo goes to the skimmer. starfish price is reasonable.
