Oily Surface on water

Hi all,

Yesterday i bought SW fr iwarna farm.

Added in LR fr a fellow reefer.

This morning, i noticed oily surface on the water. Why so?

And what shld i do?

whats the flow of your tank design, as how does it flows from the main tank to the canister/sump?

just to share, for my sump tank,i added fish, after that, the sump got oily surface, i added a hang on filter and that solves the issue.

oHH.. i just started the tank only. thus no fishes nth.

if you would like double filter, can try eheim hang on filter, it can filter out the water and "surface" skim haha

adding the surface skimmer might be a solution but i think you should find out the cause for the oily surface.

my tank has fishes and LR too but there isnt any oil on the surface.
