where you got this snail from? I suspect its a cone snail which is highly dangerous. They can inject highly poisonous paralyzing toxin at the tip. Avoid contact with bare hands and take it out .. it can kill you

its ok to keep cones. just make sure u dont touch the front part where the soft long tube comes out. All cones are carnivorous n will shoot out poison thru contact to fishes etc . So dont be surprised if one of fish is found dead in morning.
