Can i use tapwater....??

tap is ok.mine when i'm patient i will use the di filter when i'm not i will use tap water and leave it for a day to let the excess chloramine evaporate.then i will put my carbon for 2 wks then i remove it.works fine.if u r lucky u will get to c that ur skimmer skims out the slightly yellowish or green liquid which is chlorine. ;)

sign..... it seems like there is no hard rule abt tis cos some say can sm say cannot! Utimately, i think u shd try whtever way tat is suitable for u!

Fr wht I kw, tap water contain nitrate & phosphate & sm other stuff! If the problem wif yr tank is nitrate, phosphate or etc, u may not 1 2 use tap water as top off! Jus my 2 cent of words! Correct me if I'm wrong!

Normal tap water contains phosphate,nitrates and etc.Though in singapore, water condition is relatively good compared to other countries.Using tap water in the long run will build up levels of unwanted substances in the tank.For phosphate,Even though we try to remove using rowaphos or contraphos,it cannot be removed totally.Its true that small amounts of phosphate will still get into the tank thru feeding and other factors,but on our part as husbandry regime,it is good to used Ro/di water.Removing unwanted phosphate and etc is always better than add in tank already then remove.Overskimming also plays a major part in water quality.Just my point of view.I may not be right. :pinch:
