Hi guys

This is not a really new product since its availability since its debut in October 2006... However i searched through SRC up and down  and found no review about this skimmer. So this is a comprehensive (i hope) review about this splendid skimmer and also frequent updates from this skimmer...

This is the skimmate it produce 19 hrs aft running in...

It run in during about 4pm, yesterday. Up till now is about 19 hrs already... Its considerably alot for a red sea skimmer user... :whistle Of course i expect more...:evil::evil:

I will monitor the skimmate collected and update you guys accordingly.

Meanwhile this is what i got...

At least this skimmate quality and amount is better than my red sea's stock skimmer... I could only rule 2 possibilities out... 1 the skimmer is not working well... 2 My skimmer is trying to scream to me... "What else you want me to skim???!!"... This morning the collection cup was filled with about 3mm thick of skimmate...Will try to take and post pix...

Pain is temporary. It may last a minute, or an hour, or a day, or a year, but eventually it will subside and something else will take its place. If I quit, however, it lasts forever.

this skimmer is great! but i find it troublesome to dismantle and put back when you want to clean the reaction chamber. especially the top part where the gunk collects as you can see in the photo.

you'll have to clean that off or the efficiency drops after awhile.. otherwise a great skimmer!

also it would have been nicer if they used black or tinted acrylic to build it. transparant one grows aglae quickly and its not as nice visually as compared to say.. the remora or even prizm.

Yes indeed it is... Dismantle is difficult i admit so washing of body will only be done twice per year (if i still can cope) however i'll use a toothbrush to brush away gunks when i'm free... That's 1 reson why i like the skimmer transparent can see the bubbles foaming... Oso partially a reason y i changed the stosk skimmer to this one... Other than the reason that the previous one doesn't work well... <_<

hey, I think you cannot live with cleaning the mce300 twice a year. The amount of junk it can produce is exorbident! :S I clean mine every fortnight. If I do not, the junk on the sides of the skimmer will fall back into the water stream and affect the overall skimming.

Just my 2 cents.

Happy Reefing,

Marc J.
