where to place the biohome plus? and a few other Qs

as i read more, i find a few places mentioned that de-nitrifying bacteria needs a less oxygen environment. I have put my biohome plus into the chamber that receives the water from the overflow box, so shall i move it to a less flow area of the sump?

btw, will filter wool become a nitrate factory if i dun replace it promptly? do you guys see any drawback of removing the filter wool? I do have a strong skimmer running.

anyone used seachem purigen? Does it serve similar purpose of a skimmer?

It's alright to remove the filter wool. I have never used filter wool.

i have already moved 3 packets to the corners of the sump instead of the first chamber. any advice appreciated.
