If i'm not wrong its used to reduce nitrate! normally its placed in the sump or with refrugium

once nitrate is reduce you can reduce the change of water and cleaner tank without so much green algea grow on the main tank

on a side note, any 1 know where to buy the bulb "Technical Consumer Products is the actual manufacturer of the bulb. You can buy the bulb under the TCP brand name. The part number is 1P3816 5100K. "

no need really needed this bulb just normal bulb will do but just above 5100k even ur light fixture also can mostly we use more then that but 6hr not enough so that why others input in sump or with refrugium which on 24/7 min 12hr if not so heavliy stock

Hi Kelvin, cheato is normally used as a natural way of reducing Nitrate and Phosphate from your water column.

With lower nitrate and phosphate reading, you should gradually see a reduction in algae forming up in your tank
