Checklist for LPS tank setup?

Hi LPS guru,

Need your's expertise in LPS tank setup's checklist. Is the spec acceptable and please advise the reasonable equipment's model to be used.

Tank: Dim 2'L X 2.5'W x 2'H (glass thickness 8/10mm)

Sump: Size? No of Chambers? Design?

Media to be house?

Need to consider for adding other out of sump's equipments.

Overflow: Middle top of 1' surface skim with 2 x 15mm pvc pipe outlets

Return pump: 1000gph

Sand Base: 4" DSB.

Norm sand

Lighting: 2 sets of 2T x T5HO. (2white + 2 blue x 24w)

Wanted to have a separate timer for each color.

Cooler: fan or air con?

Wave Maker: ?? with timer or switches controller.

Protein Skimmer: ??

Additive: ??

Any others things required, please add on and comments. Thank you very very much.

- suggest 10mm will do.

This is hard if you dont have experience. You getting tank maker to do up your tank? if you have no idea, just go for open concept....one compartment for return and the other for skimmer and filter(you can separate both also). Think to take note, if you are keeping 2ft, your sump will be very limited unless you got a bigger sump. Also take your skimmer height and cabinet height(opening) as reference. Make sure you are able to service your equipment with easy. 2ft sump dont have much space....

Return pump: 1000gph

better to go for at least 2000i to 3000 return....

Sand: Grade 2

Salt: ??

The reason for having separate light set is to auto off the white light and just the Blue light at a specific time, unless otherwise the light set that has 2 power cords that control diff tubes.

For the overflow surface skimmer is ref to the water in-take in the main tank 1'L x 4"W x 3"H. You are right that for a 2FT tank cabinet, there are limited room for maneuvering the sump.

it will be better if u state how much u willing to spend. from there, we can help u work out brand n model. no pt we recommend u a gd skimmer but u find it too ex
