Skimmer replace pump

Hi, picked up a 2nd hand protein skimmer from pasar malam. It's the Dymax Sawtooth LS20.

The pump ,which is spoilt, that came with the skimmer is a Dymax PH1200. Does anyone know where I can buy Dymax sawtooth pumps? Iintending to get one higher rated than the default pump as I heard it's not very strong.

If you have recommendations for other needle wheel pumps please share! Looking for something not too expensive to test out the skimmer body's effectiveness.

My skimmer pump for LS10 broke down too... just ordered a replacement from Petmart. You can try this link for a list of Singapore dealers for Dymax stuff.

was told by a old ex-reefer that dymax pump impellar will rust,not sure for the new ones.

Thanks for the heads up guys. Seems like dymax pumps aren't very reliable. Recommendations for needle wheel pumps please!

i'm using the Needlewheel AS-100P 400l, 1200l/hr for my 2ft tank...

2nd hand also....

its quite good...

I changed to Aquabee 2000 needle wheel. Can get from Dr Evil.

I think my skimmer is actually the LS10 instead of the LS20. Thexder you're using aquabee 2000 on LS20 or 10? Any cheaper alternatives?

I replaced the pump for my Macro AS-100. Original Macro needlewheel is 1200L.

I've been using this skimmer for slightly more than a year, and the impeller still looks fine. However, the sealing for the electrical portion of the motor is not so good. Mine had a crack, and water went in, causing the pump to fail. I was fortunate that I could get away without electrocuting myself or the fishes...
