Hey man they're a real beau... How often do you do a water change?

Thanks!

Believe it or not, I hardly (almost never) change the water since my setup. Till date, for the past six months, I only change 20% of the water twice and my filter media, I changed only last week...

For evaporation, I top up with aged water that has been treated with Seachem Nitrate/Ammonia/Choride Remover..

My ammonia and nitrite reads 0 and my nitrate hovers at 5ppm. I thought my nitrate test kit was spoiled or not measuring well... but I tried a new test kit (different brand) and it still reads the same at around 5ppm.

I reckon this is because of the DSB.... Almost every night, I see bubbles (NO2) forming in it.

Also I use a siphon to filter out detritus on the surface of my DSB regularly (without stirring up my sandbed of course).

Plus, as most reefers always preach.. use a very very good skimmer! Don't scrimp and save on that... My Weipro is brewing black coffee everyday...

Hehe...

I have the clam for four months... it's doing very well....

10000k Power Compact Lights 36 watts

10000k Actinic Blue Light 36 watts...

So far the clam is ok...

Why Jun Hong? You hoping I give the clam up so I can pass it to u instead?:D:lol:

Also, MH is not recommended for 2 ft tanks unless u want cooked clams and fried corals... Hehe...
