Where to buy Oceanic salt mix?

Hi,

Would like to buy Oceanic salt mix urgently. Has anyone seen this salt mix at any lfs recently?

Current tank has Ca (310) and Mg (1140) which is a bit low. Will cost quite a bit to add in additives as my tank is a 6 footer. Changing water will be a more cost effective method, though time consuming and back-breaking.

If possible, pls pm me the contact # of the shop for verification of stock.

:thanks::thanks::thanks:

Thanks for the response guys! :thanks::thanks:

Without your info i would be running around searching for it, nowadays seldom chiong lfs.

LCK201 is near to my place, i stay at choa chu kang

Have ML and ahbeng as backup.

Reddevil, have you tested the scary cheap salt at LCK201, are the parameters ok?

What is the typical CA and MG levels for D2D salt mix, have not seen much of it around. Can get it around where?

I have been using coralife for my 3ft last time, good salt at that time. For my current 6ft, the 3 big boxes i all harden up when i received it, and always have white residue remaining even after thorough mixing. KH is low at 3++, Ca and Mg ok at normal levels, not as high as shown in the Reefcentral review.

Give up hope on this brand liao, still stuck with 4-5 bags :pirate:

Roger roger. Will try to do a test using the oceanic salt either this or next week.

Leg hand fast fast, went to LCK201 to grab 1 of the big blue pail, damage at 8 red notes.

That pail is so f@#@ heavy, looks like freq water change for past 2 weeks really helps one to carry heavy stuff.

Thanks to all again for the info. Perhaps someone can test out the D&D salt mix for comparison.

:thanks: :thanks: :thanks: :thanks: :thanks: :thanks:

been using Oceanic for few mths now. didnt check the water parameters for it, but doing good for me so far. and the solubility is very good. dissolved everything in less than a min after using my hands to stir in the pail.

Used both. Didnt test the parameters, but off hand, Oceanic salt solubility very good.

D&D H20 solubility not so good....still left some undissolved salt even after thorough stirring.... :pirate:

hmm.. diff from my case.. d&d and grotech got the best dissolving rate for me.

interms of approx same amt of salt and water vol. but not temperature.

btw, i have notice that the amt of salt i use for d&d to achieve the level i want is lesser then grotech. about 1/5 lesser base on the da bao container from hawker center.

read that each d&d salt have a batch number,if the parameters is not what they promise can do refund.

hows the stats comparing coral life and oceanic ?

Might be changing salt as i am slowly converting from fowlr to some corals soon!

any bros got any feedback between this two salts?

(got coral life becauase of the low price for 25kg at around 6red notes ++)

Tending to keep zoas/mushroom with the change of salt (star polys is growing like mad though *dont think require high kh as my kh is only 5) haha

Ah beng is way to far for me, $2 cheaper cannot cover petrol cost

Personal opinion for coralife salt, don't try it. Time needed to break up the harden salt mix, time needed to perform good stir, and worst thing, white residue at the bottom.

The oceanic mix does not have the above problem at all. Mix and replace 3 big buckets in record timing :whistle

As promised, the specs for Oceanic salt with DI water and salinity at 1.025

Ca - 550

Mg - 1440

Kh - 14.4

The perfect recipe to boster my low Ca and Mg.

Weird...Oceanic use to have low mg and surprisely you got 1440 :whistle .

I think they maybe improved the quality :yeah: !
