brown stuff on tank wall

hey guys...

there seem to be some brown "algae-like" stuff growing on the walls of my tank..

tested for Phosphate, got a 0 reading..

is it possible for algae to still grow even if Phosphate is 0??

and its brown, not green...

could it be a case of me overfeeding my LS??

hmm its very natural to have these on glass

maybe can control feeding I not sure but its perfectly normal

i think i feed too much..

i always worry that they'll starve to death

and they always seem so hungry whenever i feed them.. haha..

if you leave it..i will spread very fast and even yr rocks will be infested with these brown algae...and its very unsightly.

is there CA in ur water as it maybe coraline algea it begin stages is from brown to abit green and then pinkish lastly purple that what happen to my on LR but on glass it started to be brown and the sowly turn pink

yes... i add this solution that another reefer gave me...

its the Pro Series Sea Balance by AquaPharm... there's part A and part B.. 2 different bottles...

can be found at Aquamarin for $18.80 per bottle...

any comments on this solution???

i use it before but best is to have a bit of coraline algea first in ur tank and the use the solution from iwa###

it will have better result that what i fell or CA powder will also do but slower in progress

increase the flow in yr tank...helps a lot.

and scrub the diatoms on the walls...yr water will be dirty for a while, but its ok, not harmful to livestocks. its food for corals..haha

hehe gonna get some sand dollar and sea hare to eat up those diatoms

01x hydor koralia 1 (1500l/hr) is it enough for a 2ft tank???

not forgetting there's still my external pump outflow of abt 1800l/hr and my skimmer output.. haha...

should i point the wave maker parellel with the sand bed?

or slightly tilted downwards towards the sand bed? haha..

can no probs not directly hitting the sand should do

K1 is acceptable unless you feel its abit too large you perhaps can go for the hydor koralia nano

which is small like a key very cute but dunno solid not

actually there were times i felt that K1 is not enough..

thinking of getting a 2nd one...

but currently not doing so due to tight budget.. haha...

hmmm... i cycled for one whole month before i introduced anything into the tank..

haha...

but i tend to overfeed..

nope.. sandbed looks normal...

using rowas phos...

tested for po4, reading 0...

haha...

but the brown stuff not alot,

once it comes up i'll straight away scrub it off..

just find it a little nusience thats all.. haha...
