I'm totally nut in electrical..

I just check with my supplier on this is his reply.

60 LED

Consumption WATT per pc - 11W

Current per pc (mA) - 960~1180

Voltage - DC12V

Intensity - 420-540LM

Base on the above specification, can it penetrate 1.5' (tank height)?

If it don't work as what you have mention, can you recommend any good site (layman term) :bow:

I think you mean 3 leds to a metal core PCB.

It is not only about how many LEDs but how many watt LEDs you are using.

Unless your tank is less than 12 inch deep.Only 3 watt LED can penetrate

the water deep of more than 12 inch with the help of optics.

If I am not wrong your LED lite cannot even meet the spec of a 70 watt MH

Consumption WATT per pc - 11W.(There is no 11 watt LED on market now.Only 1 watt or 3 watt can be use in aquarium)

Current per pc (mA) - 960~1180(That is very high for less than 3 watt LED.)

Voltage - DC12V(12 V can only drive 3 pcs of 3 watt LEDs)

Intensity - 420-540LM(How far from the LED is this measurement?Normal we take at 50 cm)

Look like is those 10 mm LEDs no even 1 watt LED. You need 3 watt LEDs for aquarium )

BTW, any LFS selling good LED that can penetrate 1.5' height??
