hey guys...

i cannot find my yellow wrasse!!!

checked the filter and pumps,

checked the surroundings of the tank (in case it jumps out)

its not there!

i doubt its dead cos i just saw him this morning..

read about it being able to bury itself under the sand...

1) will it bury its whole body under the sand and there'll be no indication as of where it will be?

2) any pictures of your yellow wrasse hiding???

really hope to find it soon.. haha...

or rather, hope that it will come out soon...

Yes, it buries itself completely under the sand when it is stressed, threatened or sleeping. In your case, it should be the former two reasons. Try not to disturb the tank too much like sticking your hand in to stir the sand looking for it, or move the live rocks around, it will be stressed further and refuse to come out, might starve to death eventually.

I bought a yellow wrasse last Friday too, hiding 90% of the time but it came out the second morning, then hide again after nipping some food, by Sunday, it was swimming around, even coming to the surface when I feed.

Erm.......... since you asked:

What were you expecting? :eyebrow:

I can picture in my mind a world without war, a world without hate.

And I can picture us attacking that world, because they'd never expect it.

Yellow wrasse are masters of hiding. I remembered a case which one reefer had gone to the LFS to get LR, and when he reached home and placed the LR into his tank, he was really surprised to see a yellow wrasse swimming in his tank. :eyebrow:
