hi all, is tunze 9002 enuff for a 2ft cube??

the specs says its good for 40l-200l tanks.

but my tank with sump is about 250-300l.

u guys think if i keep less fishes,it'll help with the skimming??

always better to overskim than under.

yep try to get something bigger for example u have a 2 feet tank

Bro, what are you going to keep? I dont really adhere to overskimming is better then underskimming though...

If u're doing mainly softies, underskimming will actually benefit the tank. My 2 cents

bro i'm currently keeping some sps and zoa in a 2x1x1 w/o skimmer.

since i'm upgrading to a 2ft cube with sump..i might as well look for a skimmer.

original idea was just to keep some cheato in my sump.

but if u underskim for long,means ur nutrients will be far too much then needed. then problem will come

heheh, thats where weekly or monthly water changes comes in inevitably.

i would agree mce500 would be a better choice, personally used a Tunze nano few moons ago, pump failed on 2 ocassions, microbubbles leakage..sianz

Currently I am using Tunze9002 for my Juwel 100L tank, will be change to 2.5ftx2ftx2ft next month,

main tank approx 280L, sump tank will be small, not more than 1.5ft.

My curret Tunze9002 can't work on the main tank cos 280L, can I put in the sump tank instead?

Better right? Cos don't want to invest another skimmer again, bot it less than 4mths.

My suggestion is, do not rely on these nano skimmers too much...coz end of the day, they help to remove some ammonia and nutrients from the water.

Whether its expensive brands or lower end brands, the best way to ensure health of your stocks and corals are not to overstock, overfeed and change yr water at least weekly to reduce nitrate and phosphate levels and restore vital trace elements back to the water. And last but not least, scrub yr tank walls fortnightly.

Its all about maintenance...investment in these expensive equipments will help you to spend less time maintaining...thats all.

Agree with Bro AhSiang that husbandry is very important in keeping a reef tank... i neglected my duty the last time and a tank crash resulted...

expensive lesson for me..
