Hi Bros n Sis.

Has anyone tried using the branded t5 tubes (ATI or Gissemann) in the normal (ie Hopar or other brand) fixtures?

Heard that those fixtures may not be able to bring out the spectrum, eg.. of the brande tubes, as the ballast may not be powerful enough.

Is it true?

Please advise.

:thanks:

mostly LPS. my tank ht is 2.5ft n i gt a clam on my sandbed. been doing fine. also a green SPS n some monti on the higher level close to water surface. the onli thing i dun like abt this fixture is it onli has 1 power plug which mean u can only on n off 4 tubes together with timer, otherwise i feel for normal usage, it does the job well.

check with bro lemon, think he is using hopar fixture and retrofit fixture with new tubes. must check with him

but i heard the hopar reflectors are not build for individual tubes. unlike the powdermodul or giessemman fixtures.

if so,this might be the difference in the brightness.
