hey hey...

i need help again.. haha...

like to ask you guys, is it ok to connect my external canister, chiller and protein skimmer together???

in another words, water from the tank will flow into my filter first, then chiller then skimmer, before flowing back out into the main tank...

is the order of flow ok?

Normally Filter require high flow and skimmer might not require that high flow. Of cos this will depend on what skimmer you are using. Your skimmer is a NW external? Or Venturi?

As for chiller, the flow rate needed will depend on the chiller model.

It might be possible that the output of your filter connect a T to your chiller and skimmer. Is this provided that your filter is high flow rate.

Example your filter is doing 1000L an hour and T off to chiller 600 L /hr and 400 L/hr to skimmer.

You also did not state the size of your tank, filter / chiller / skimmer specs. Thus hard to advice.

Guess senior reefer could share their views.

hi, thanks for the reply..

my tank is a 2feet tank (2ft x 1.2ft x 1.5ft)

flowrate for my filter is 1500l/hr

using a Resun CL650 as my chiller

and my skimmer is a Macro Aqua protein skimmer (Needlewheel AS-100P 400l, 1200l/h)

You would need a min of 2000l/h for the Resun CL650.

What I would do is 1 pump for Chiller & 1 pump for Filter & Skimmer

The tube at the output of the skimmer is made big for a purpose...to let the skimmed water along with some bubble to be directed back to the tank or sump.

If u modify this pipe or connect any other device at the output of the skimmer, the skimmer may not perform as it supposed to...

ok... looks like i got no choice then... the pipe look very ugly with the skimmer pump inside my tank... my tank's only 2ft, so the pump looks very big inside my tank.. haha..
