beast13
..but this happen when i change my MH bulb from 14K to 20K for a tank of 2.5' depth..why?? Anyway.. for the fellow reefers advice
SRC Member Thexder Posted April 29, 2009 SRC Member Share Posted April 29, 2009 20k does not have enough brightness to penetrate 2.5' depth. Close to 10k would be better since thats closer to sunlight colour.

SRC Member Thexder Posted April 30, 2009 SRC Member Share Posted April 30, 2009 bro for your advice..will try it out.. 20K looks nice but you need higher wattage to offset the drop in brightness. Natural sunlight is around 10K colour temp. So most of the algae and corals have maximum photosynthesis near this range. If you are using 20K, you may need to supplement with 10K bulbs at the same time.
dragon1188
What wrong with pink? Mine was pink all along. Covered 80% of my back wall and almost all my rocks. Also growing layers upon layers. Some layer until like cauliflower. In fact too much. Hope they dont grow so fast. Eating all my calcium and carbonate.
