Shops to recommend?

Recommended Posts

No one has any inputs on good service, reasonable pricing and shops which are " good" etc?

I currently am running a 5x2.5x2.5 tank but it was kinda DIY. Shifting house so thought I will leave it to the pro for a hassle free one this time. Would appreciate any input really....

You can approach AquaMarin, Janet for quotation or Henry of MarineLife.

Both are sponsors of SRC.

If you want solid high end state-of-the-art shit...approach Reef Depot.

Thanks, appreciate your reply. Would you have any idea what kind of damage would Reef Depot be inflicting approximately for a 5ft "cabinet to the ceiling" kind? Went to the Aquamarin shop at Jln Kayu but wasn't very impressed by the display tank there. No offence. They are really good?

Regards

I can't really tell you the damage as i dun want any misunderstandings, u know wat i mean.

You can get AM to do the set-up for you, but for the livetocks and how you want to place yr rocks and all that, you can DIY yourself as you like it...if u are afraid it end up like phua chu kang.

Haha, I am sorry but I didnt mean it that way bro... : ) no offences to any bros reading this cos I certainly didn't think that the display tank was lousy as in layout etc, only that there were not many display tanks to look at ( I suppose due to space constraints as well.) In fact I was impressed with the sheer sizes of the fishes they have in the big black tank with the bolts and works.

Maybe its because I am looking at not just the tank but also the cabinet as in overall look of the tank... keke thats why. Anyway, I just spoke to Steve and he is very helpful and will assist me in trying to do something for me. Oh, I dun have " high taste" in that sense; just wanted to get a quotation for a cabinet and hassle free setup that matches my new home design and of course at a " cheap, green, big, next door" price! Haha.

Thing is my current set up was very much custom made and DIY-ed during my renos then and I busted my budget. Yet still, I found my tank rather wanting as I did not manage to be able to keep corals, only fish and shrimps thats why I seek kind opinion and input here.

Thank you for your replies and input bro, I really appreciate you not concluding that I am a snob cos I am not. :)

Cheers!

Hi awct,

i think hard to find a shop that displays all their masterpieces....cos floor space cost money. However, you can visit them and ask them for past job reference and pic to determine their workmanship. Their current display tank is meant to show their workmanship(usually they outsource hence you wont know whether the original maker for their display tank has changed or not....)Few shops in the forum do help customer to customise tank....you can also try other fresh water aquarium forum(yonghua, han teck, etc are rather popular). Good to go to the shop that you feel comfortable with. Most importantly their after sales service and whether they have big heart to continue serving you in a good and friendly manner even though you buy stuff from elsewhere. came to know shop that provide good service but once they know you buy stuff from other shops, attitude changed....lol. So far, for reputable tank maker, there bounds to be customers experiencing bad encounters. Hence, the recommendation is just for reference to reduce such possibility. After the recommendation, the choice is still yours and i think just go with your heart in your selection.

Currently looking at Aqua Marin, Reef Depot, #####, Marine Life Hobbyist and this online store Fish N Friends ( wonder if anybody has any feedback and experience on this online store though)
