Please help to ID!

I just noticed some white stuff growing on the side of my coral. that part of the coral originally is just a base where my algae blennie perches...

looks like decaying matter,

one way ti find out is to

take it out and smell it.

Do i have to remove the whole coral of how? coz the rest of the coral 80% where the polyps are are fine.....

i don't think u have to smell it to know it smells bad...

wat i do is haha use a penknife cut the unwated part and then dump it back... it looks like leather to me though...

Just scrape off the decaying part or use a hose to suck out lah. If u hv hermit crabs etc, they may hv a go at it as well.

the day before I scraped it off but it continued growing.... haiz...

A piece of the coral broke off and I only kept that.... For those who are guessing the type of coral... here are the pics!

this is the nicer types.. got one typw the centre is also brown.. kinda common that type..

hahahaa.. hmmm any idea y it fall off?

when i bought it got a slight crack on the base and when I moved my LR, it just broke off from the main coral. This little bunch is doing fine though.... but my golden head goby keeps "spraying" sand all over it
