Montipora

Should i get montipora cap or digi? There are 3 things under consideration - 1. my tank conditions are not the most perfect, so the hardier coral out of the 2 would be prefered 2. I need it to grow vertically (not too wide) 3. I feel that monti cap is more beautiful than monti digi.

Another question - where do i buy these corals and how much do they cost? I have not seen them at reborn. I do go to aquamarin tanjong katong, but i only see acropora....

If you need the sps to grow vertically, then digi is yr choice cos you'll need a lot of space for monti cap to plate out. You can start with a green or orange digi for a start. Get frags if possible. My digis are all frags at the moment.

Golden Octopus always has the monti caps in various colors and nice swirling shapes. Do a search and u should find their location easily.

Yr water parameters need not be in almost perfect conditions for montipora, so long no brown algae growing everywhere and yr phosphate level is low.

You can checkout superman montipora...they are damn beautiful!

Some ppl told me digi is more difficult to keep... At first its esy but at the end it'll bleach.... Dunno how true is it... u can give it a try...=)

Digi is the easiest SPS i ever keep. growing very fast if given gd light, water and flow as compare to other SPS eg. acropora. When they start growing wild, u can see how beautiful it can be
