SRC Member markietan Posted April 15, 2009 SRC Member Share Posted April 15, 2009 mm.. this product is effective.. have used it a few times too and didn't harm any of my lifestock. however i would suggest syphoning out whatever you can first before dosing this product. cause after it kills the cyano, its harder to syphon all of them out since they become flaky. because cyano is a type of bacteria and this medication is an antibiotics, if you don't kill it all at 1 go then chances are the cyano (bacteria) will start developing immunity against the antibiotics. so they will grow back and next time you will need a heavier dose and so on so forth. so make sure u dose enough amount and for long enough before you change water or restart skimmer. also like many others mentioned before, try and find out the root cause first b4 resorting to medication. reduce nitrate, increase flow, etc also, do include some pictures of your skimmer going berserk after switching it back on. hehehe Quote :DECOMMED 5ft shallow tank: :DECOMMED 3ft tank::DECOMMED 2ft nano tank: :4ft Balcony Tank:

Greywolf
You made me stop and think for a moment who this stalker is ????? HAHA. But looking at your pic kind of gave me a Lead. Anyway, I was surfing the web on the product and there are many users who claimed that the product resulted in livestock and coral death. Not too sure if its worth it to try. Any others with negative experiences on using this product ? Thanks Regards

I am 150 Gallon guy and just like other, afraid of overdose, I cut the recommended to 6 to 7 spoon...I remember te recommonded dosage is 15 spoon... So, this is what happen. I "inject" directly on those RSA area with the wave and pump turn off waiting for 2 hrs before turn on the wave and pump. However, Skimmer remain off 24hrs later, turn of Skimmer and both Coral and Fish are fine. 48hrs, notice 1 to 2 fish casualties and a few zoas start closing up..Panic Change 20% of the water Next 24hrs more fishes died and more zoas closing up... Panic Throw in 2 pack of active carbon and wait faithfully 72hrs later.. no more casuality. After 3 weeks later RSA appear again but smaller area in the tank and qucikly remove the rock.. hope it stop here. Anyway, my suggestion is to dose at least 70% to 80% of the recommendation for 48hrs and quick do 30 to 40% water changes and use enough of active carbon.. should able to reduce casualties
