filter system

hi

i have ceramic chip,bio balls and some wool..in my filter system in my sump

all of them are sumerge in water..

plz give some comments

you might want to remove the ceramic chips and bio balls.

just my two cents.

investing in some carbon like SeaChem Matrix Carbon *I think* and some phosphate remover like PhosGuard for the poor people like me, or RowaPhos if you're rich.

Pet**** and Reb***. All seachem products got 20 % discount. As for rowaphos, only available in Reb***. If you intend to get Seachem phosguard, you need to buy a filter bag as they don't come with it.

I think your bioballs and ceremic ring serve no purpose. They can only perform it's function in a wet/dry situation, that is water running thru them.

I bought a huge 4L tub of SeaChem Carbon for $85. two huge 2L bottles cost $45. so yah. not sure if you'll still get the same price or not now.

I got a normal sized PhosGuard for $20. they didn't have the huge 2L ones then.

remember to get the smallest filter bag. SMALLETS. and get extra so that you can use two instead of one per filrate. washing and all will make a tear in the damn bag, like mine. leaked a bit of carbon. =\

hi, so how long can it last b4 you need to change it? both the carbon and phos guard

hmm. test kits will tell you when to change it. PO4 for RowaPhos. and for Carbon. can change every six months...or at least I'd intend to do that.
