is there a need to QT shrimps

thinking of adding cleaner shrimps to add red colour to my tank.

is there a need to QT the shrimps?

nope. they dun carry fish disease, but may carry other disease that infect other shrimps. this is exeedingly rare though.

i would just acclimate them and add them in. no need for QT

Go very slow when acclimatising them to your water condition. They are ultra sensitive to changes. Also, make sure ur aggressive fishes are well fed . Especially the wrasses. otherwise, you may see the shrimp murdered in front of your eyes.

put the bag in the tank for a while to let the shrimp and fishes "get to know one another"(can also see how your fishes react to them) and allow the water temperature to match. Thereafter, open and allow the tank water to slowly mix with water in the bag. Ensure the shrimp finds a landing spot and where possible, hiding spot. Dont let them parachut down to sand bed....think they will be shocked to death....lol. they are not commandos. : ) All the best. Personal experience and may not be the best method. Please take it as reference.
