Help on Pico Tanks

I used to have a 2 ft tank until it was destroyed....

In order to restart my tank, i need to convince my husband how beautiful a marine tank can be and I intend to achieve that by setting up a pico tank (for mushroom and zoas only) in his office!

I have searched and read up about PICO tanks, but there aren't too much information on them. Anyone has tried succesfully?

If I were to get my own tank, which nano equipment (skimmer/filter/lighting/chiller(?)) would be value for money to set up a the pico tank?

Anyone has got a CPR pico tank? How is the tank setup? Good?

Any advice would be greatly appreciated!

Cheers~ :thanks:

Hey, you are back! After so many years haha. What happened to your 2ft?

A pico tank is hard to keep. It needs lots of maintenance, no matter what kind of equipment you use, the space is an issue.

How small of a tank are you looking at?

The most challenging problem for me is the temperature. It wouldn't be a problem if the tank is situated in an air conditioned room. For a pico tank, I think an iceprobe would do the job. But then again you have to state the size of the tank first, before more advice can be given.

Not that many years lah....

Ice probe? Aha, bought it already! More for anticipation :)

As for size? Not too big. just enough to put in maybe 3 types of mushrooms and maybe two to 4 types of zoas?

It has to be placed on his office table... so can't be too big. Most likely will go for small and cheap polyps cos don't think the survival rate is high ha ha ha. Still would like to go for the challenge!

Yah Fuzzy,

Pico is under 10g. CPR's decor tank is only 3g.

Hmm why not get the whole set up from eviliztic, he was selling his whole tank set up at quite a good price due to army. Very beautiful tank, he even managed to keep SPS without problems.

I think she has a 3 Gallon tank in mind. I personally wouldn't recommend it, but if you have the discipline to maintain it and to purchase only appropriate livestock for it,

don't see why not.

For me I wouldn't put any fish inside, as that would just be too cruel. A coral only tank I could do, but I wouldn't just because of the intense amount of daily maintenance

involved to maintain it responsibly.

Just my $0.02
