Sharing with all fellow reefers my newly establish humble reef tank. Still alot of learning for me to upkeep the reef tank given that i've failed a couple of times over the last few years and i am restarting the hobby again.

Learning lessons:

1. PATIENCE - Never be in a hurry to load up your tank and when you do it, 1 by 1 rule applies

2. YOU NEED TEST KITS - No short-cuts, you really need to test your water parameters.

3. THE RIGHT TEMPERATURE - You can't save on not having a Chiller if you want to keep Corals and if you want them to do well.

I am still learning, more than glad to learn from all of you experience reefers out there, please feel free to share with me your comments.

O....M....G...... Jaw dropping. First picture says it all - very neat, clean, minimalist. It looks as though you have put a lot of thought into this tank, and visualised it exactly even before setting up. Very nice! Your past experiences and lessons have served you well :)

Here are some close-up shots of the Corals in the tank.

So far, they are doing well... and will continue to do so...

Thank you all for your compliments.

I was just lucky to find really nice purple-ish live rocks of good shape and size. Will certainly hope to add more fishes selectively into the tank when it is more stable cos some died recently due to "White Spots". I am suspecting it is due to high Nitrate in the tank, so doing my due diligence in changing water to lower the Nitrate level.

Meanwhile putting on hold to fishes for a week or so, if not there will be a lot of sacrifices to make.

Last tested water perimeters on 28/03/09 are:

Ammonia: 0.25

PH: 8.2 (Normal)

Alkaline: (1.7) Normal)

Nitrate: (50-100 level), about 75level (more to high side)

Very nice tank...looks neat and clean!

You mentioned white spots, could it be ICH? Better to QT your new fish first before adding in the main tank.

Very nice and neat! Btw, how long have you had this tank?

You might wanna consider shifting your filter wool above onto the egg crate instead of being submerged in the water. Its supposed to get rid of stuff that you don't want in the water. ^_^
