The new marble star is really adventurous, loves crawling all over the place and hanging from difficult positions. This one looks like an action movie star hanging from the edge of a building.

Couldn't resist a priceless photoshop :P

New clam, not very good at identifying species cos they all look the same to me - end up choosing based on suitable size hahaha. Should be t. crocea right? Maxima and crocea both look very close in appearance.

Will be moving it up progressively closer to the light once it settles in.

Crocea... Crocea have a smooth shell, whereas maxima is more rough..

Oh okay okay thanks for the ID! I tried to ID thru the web but the site I found differentiate them by the byssal opening at the bottom and the shape of the shell. :D

Thanks to both of you for the zoa and lights respectively, my corals are really doing much better now :D

does yours run around??? ^_^

Yah man, mine runs all over the place. Just when I think it is happy with a spot, it will run elsewhere. I figured out which area of the tank the anemone likes already, still looking for a suitable live rock that is to the anemone's liking.

Bro, if i am not wrong, your sand seems to be fine sand, any problems with fishes disturbing your sand; thus entering your clam,,,,, killing it??? :erm:

The sand is actually not as light as grade 0 white sand. It is heavy and sinks quickly, like metal shavings haha. In fact, I think there is high content of magnetic minerals in the sand, always get attracted to metal surfaces.

Ermm... short answer is no, it does not enter my clam haha.

This is where I store my NSW:

post-15730-1250672689_thumb.jpg

The Eheim hang on filter keeps the water running and fresh, and I've got a small bag of biohome that has already been cycled inside, so anytime I need to isolate a fish, I won't be caught off guard.

Actually a decent focal range should be sufficient for tank photos considering that cameras now, even phone cameras, can come with a bajillion megapixel sensors. I normally use a 17-35mm lens, and the pics in this thread were cropped to show the subject.

I don't have a macro lens cos I don't have a need to shoot stuff like this on a regular basis :eyebrow: :
