Any brand in the market will do.. Cost around $20-40

there's also quite a lot of brand below $20, can find at Sim Lim Sq or Sim Lim Tower.

any hardware shop will sell i am talking abt those hardware stores in shoping centre(handyfix etc)...not our neighbourhood 'gou-kim-tiam' ntuc sell too...these shops are reliable if you wanna 'safety' ones

I am using the brand TheBen , square in design and take up less space inside the cabinet.

i dunno how slim is the design of TheBen...but i thk the brand 'diehl' is quite a good and reliable one...

wif timers u leave the switch on so i guess electricity bill will go up right?

If there is no current drawn by any appliances then no electricity is 'used'.

btw heard so much about grounding the tank due to stray voltage? how real is this possibility/threat?

Real enough. If you have powerheads in the water they can cause stray voltage in the tank. I've been zapped before and it can hurt quite a bit. I have many earthed equipment in my system so I don't need a separate grounding probe.
