urgent

Recommended Posts

hi all, recently , all my fishes have been acting weirdly , like all lack of oxygen , especially my mandarin , my water parameters are all okay ,feeding henry gourmet tiwce a day, no protein skimmer , so im wondering if the cause for the weird behaviour is cause of the lack of oxygen?im using a 12 gal nanocube.

urgent urgent

many thanks and mwuacks you:p

wat weird behaviour? all gasping for air? if this is so, can be either lack of oxygen or high ammonia/nitrite. check ur water parameters. probably coz no skimmer and over feeding henry's food.

Having a skimmer is not only providing oxygen rich water but also remove organic substances as well.

Without skimmer will require more frequent water change. This is not saying that with skimmer no water change is required.

does ur tank have an overflow system? wavemakers? is the surface of ur water stagnant and ur water flow minimal? if yes to all, then there is a high chance ur water is low i O2. good water movement and aeration will ensure good gas exchange

please try to be more descriptive with your topic. It's very annoying not just for me but everyone else. You want help quick... this is something to consider. thanks! -_-

i checked everything , everything is okay! maybe im over feeding. is there any other alternative other than a protein skimmer for oxygen ?

maybe you can share abit more on what is 'everything'? if you have ALL the test kits/meters... then i think there's shouldn't be a problem for you to own a skimmer.

Quite frankly, henry's food is quite 'power'... strong skimmer is recommended.

I feed Henry's food twice a week with protein over-skimming, and I can notice a nitrate spike. You feed them twice a day?? Without a skimmer?? All I have to say is, WOW.

Aside from nitrate/nitrite/PO4, make sure ur salinity and ur pH are ok.

When AT talks about being more descriptive, I think he might be referring to a more appropriate title. Simply "Urgent" doesn't tell anyone what to lookout for. There are actually 2 lines you can write on in the thread title.

And why not tell us your water parameters, so we can see what's not there, but should be?

Bro. check yr salinity level....i gana this b4 and all my fishes died...nearly caused my tank to crash...even my brain was bloated up like balloon.

If you have been doing regular water change while feeding....yr nitrate shd be in control. Twice a day feeding w/o skimmer, quite dangerous....

I suppose your tank has been running for 3 weeks already right? Did you add in a lot of live stock within this period? I fed henry's food once daily too. Did water change every 3 to 4 days when I was using that tank, even with a skimmer, cos the water volume is small, nitrate builds up easily. 2 days after water change, it shoots up to 15ppm already.

And I can picture us attacking that world, because they'd never expect it.
