Hi i have a 4x2x 2,5 height fish tank, using 2 blue 2 white T5 lights. When I on them all, the effect is rather yellow white effect. However I have seen smaller tanks like 2 or 1.5 height using 2 blue 2 white T5, it was rather shiny blue effect. Why is there differences? Could it be the height diff or the brand of lights? I am using only hopar t5 lights fyi. Any advise is appreciated.

Thanks.

if only white , even more yellowish. hmm my water may not be so yellowish..though i add normal amount of iodine weekly as instructed. if i turn only blue. its pretty dim...i thought height of tank might be the problem that i need stronger light...:P

what colour is your sand? gravel usually reflects the light , might wanna check out the substrate , yellow colour then you'll get a yellowish environment.

in fact my sand has lots of debris and i would say most probably is slightly yellowish in color...could be the reason :)

Hi Randy > What brand of T-5 r u using and for the white T-5, what colour grade isit? As in Aquablue+ or a normal daylight T-5. For Aquablue+ (the tube that combines blue and white colour grade), brands such as D&D or Deltec does give better colouration.

What is the temperature of the tubes u are using? 6500K or 10000K or 20000K ?

How long have they been in use? Tubes tends to have spectrum shift after a period of use.

Best Regards,

change to ATI aquablue for white n blue plus for blue. i using this combo for my 2.5ft ht tank n the colour look blueish white.

u mean replace ATI aquablue(brand) for the 2 white and 2 blue i have now? how much does each of it cost. Does it really that different effect? I scare if i buy alr and the problem is not with the lighting and wasted hehe...but since u say its bluish white..i might consider buying :)..do u have a pic of the lighting effect u got? maybe i can do a compare haha..

thanks.

I suggest you do not stir your sand because it can create a mini cycle.

actually my glass tend tend to grow lots of algae even by the edge near the sand bed..using a stick to wipe of the algae has alr stir some of the sand a bit hehe...
