JBJ 28G nano...airwood skimmer question

For those guys who know what i am talking abt....

the JBJ 28G nano tank comes with an air wood skimmer...

i am thinking of changing the airwood, cause its efficency drops after a while...

but no matter how hard i pull the original wood refuses to come out.... anyone has any ideas??

its like stuck in the plastic column that it came with!!!

Soak in hot (not boiling) water for 1 min then try again? You're supposed to change that wooden airstone every 1 - 3 months.

i am almost on the verge of sawing it out liao....

it clogs up and doesn't produce as much bubbles as a new one.

Wow its stuck that tight?? I would try soaking it in warm water first, if still cannot, try vinegar solution. I suspect calcium or coralline deposits are keeping it in.

i wished it was calcium and coraline...

but it came like that... with the wood stuck in the bloody thing!!!! argh!!!

Maybe its time to change to a better skimmer. Those air stone type skimmer really cannot make it.
