nothing will eat that stuff...scrape it off and it will just return again...only thing is to get rid of its fuel..

I never seen cyano attached on glass before. Do you notice any oxygen bubble form on it? If not, it could be coraline algea!

I know what is cyano since my tank kena this before. It normally speads on to sand bed or LR but never onto the glass. Anyway, my cyano problem is now under control after I grow plenty of marco algae in my refugium tank

OIC, either the guy's tank water is stagnate or the water contains too much PO4. Watch out for some pellet food which is rich in phosphates.
