Injured Favia coral?

Hi All,

I just purchased a favia aka moon coral two days ago. Discovered white flesh exposed and i dont think is white spot. I think probably due to transporation and due to my neglience (handling). What are the chances of recovery? i have since moved it to a low flow area (since that is it's requirement).

Thanks....

Looks like exposed skeleton to me....you can dose amino acids to help the tissue to grow and recover. I m using Kent Marine Coral Accent....but chances of recovering very slow...frankly.

You feed yr favia in the night weekly with some chopped meat and see how lor... :D

I also noticed you place yr favia beside yr zoas...not too sure whether it is good idea...coz their sting quite power one...

Perhaps the experts here can advice? :thanks:

Thanks for the advice. i read abt favia's 'invisible' tenacles that can grow quite long. Will monitor and see how it goes....

my favia also. 2 polyps showing skeleton. i dun mind if those 2 polyps die off, but my main concern is that it will spread to my other polyps =]

Yours also ah? I not sure if given the time and the right quality (water parimeters), should the tissue grow back?

Boss.....post a pic of your favia lei.....??

are ur shrimp doin disco on ur favia?

let it have lesser light n low flow to recover e flesh 1st

then u shift to higher lighting

else algae pores will start grow on e expose skeleton very fast..

takes time to recover.. dun target feed it till it recover..

Shrimp ah...yah lor. Cos is their turf mah. The shrimps like to do 'tango' on the zoas as well. Actually i saw some green tissue growing back....will post pic again
